Rea passed Sykes on lap 2 after a small mistake from Sykes.Davies closed up on the front 2 as all three broke away from the rest of the field.Davies was really on the move searching at every opportunity to pass Sykes. VDM passed Guintoli into the hairpin as he attempted to catch the front 3.

Sykes ran wide into turn 3 allowing Davies who then passed Rea a few corners later to take the lead. Meanwhile with all the oertaking at the front the chasing group caught the front 3 and a real train developed at the front.Guintoli fell with 17 laps to go crashing out of 5th place. Rea went to hot into turn one and went back to 4th place losing time on the front 3. The front 5 at this stage made up of Davies,Sykes,VDM,Rea and Hayden had broken away and were all setting similar lap times. Giugliano retired from 10th.

VDM passed Sykes with an amazing move to go 2nd and looked good to make a movve on
Davies for the lead. Rea passed Sykes who then went in late to the hairpin and dropped the Kawasaki.Rea moved into 2nd with 12 laps to go and set about chasing Davies down and adding to his tally of race wins at Assen.

9 Laps to go and no change with the front 4 Davieslead the way from Rea,VDM and Hayden all 4 setting lap times similar to each other. VDM passed Rea into the chicane only for Rea to come back at him later in the lap this allowed Davies to open a gap at the front.

4 Laps to go and Davies Rea and VDM all swapping places 3 times in as many corners. Rea grabbed the lead from Davies with 3 laps to go with VDM following him through into 2nd place. 2 Laps to go and this has been one of the most exciting WSBk races in recent years.
VDM crashes big with s laps to go the front just folds on him with him falling that allowed 13043732_10153708120879032_1571441219945433736_nHayden to move into 3rd. Going onto the last lap it was Rea vs Davies for the win Davies ran in a bit hot into turn one and gave Rea a bit of a gap which barring any mistakes he should hold on to. The last lap was dull by the the rest of the races standard Rea takaes the win from Davies and a maiden SBK podium for Hayden.

Rea continues he amazing form at Assen but really had to work for it in Race 1 he now moves another win closer to Carl Fogarty’s record. Davies lead for the majority of the race but just didnt have enough for Rea and Hayden hung on to the front guys and earned a well desereved podium. Unlucky for VDM today he had the pace and looked menacing behind Rea a slight mistake and he fell for any Moto GP readers keep an eye on this Guy Hinda are very big on him I would expect him in GP very soon.

ASSEN Race 2 :

The race began under iffy conditions after a heavy rain shower fell that caused a stop start 12990958_1065689033473567_4865255756231684432_nSupersport race the track was wet for the superbikes but was drying out fast,The grid lined up the same as race 1. Sykes lead into the first corner from Rea and Davies as the whole group just tip toed arund the first few corners. Guintoli seemed to have made a mistake at the early stage with tyre choice as he fell backwards.

Rea was beaten back to 5 after a small mistake into the hairpin Fores moved up to 3rd place as the two Honda team mates battled just in front of Rea. At the front Sykes was breaking away from the group behind and Fores moved up to 2nd going past Davies and Hayden moved past him as well. 19 laps to go Davies started to fall backwards as Rea moved past and Brookes started to really pressure him. Fores made a mistake going into the hairpin that allowed both Hondas to go past.

13000141_10154390705545769_9040967359819856495_nVan der Mark closed right up on Sykes as Hayden sturggled to keep the pace of the front 2. Van Der Mark got passed Sykes on the 3rd corner as Brookes was the man on the move moving up to 3rd passed the Hondas. Brookes then dispatched both Sykes and Van Der Mark and set about opening up a gap on the field. Rea regrouped to 4th place and looked to be setting a steady pace just keeping a check on things.

Van Der Mark and Rea passed each other into the hairpin swwapping paint on entry and exit as Rea passed his pit he waved his leg looking to indicate he wanted to change tyres. Brookes meanwhile continued to lap impressively from Hayden.Rea came in with 14 laps to go and became the first of the front group to change tyres and his team mate SYkes followed suit. The 2 Hondas and Brookes continued on as the race really heated up. Van Der Mark came in a lap after Rea and Sykes as the front guys all started to change tyres due to the drying track conditions.

Brookes and Hayden contiued to circulate on wet tyres setting decent lap times but the guys on the dry and intermediate tyres were starting to get up to speed and set faster and faster times.Davies started a real charge with 10 laps to go as he past Hayden and set about passing Brookes unfortunately for the front 3 Rea nd Sykes were about 10 secs faster at this stage. All 3 entered the pits at the same time allowing the 2 Kawasakis to move up as it looked like they choose the perfect time to pit.

Brookes fell with 9 laps to go unlucky for the Austrailia in what was his best WSBK race to 12987042_987561457976255_6534106308233876938_ndate. Rea and Sykes were now in the lead and it looked like a straight dog fight between the team mates for the win. Van Der Mark who pitted a lap after the Kawasakis was in a lonely 3rd place, The other champioship contender Davies seemed to have made a mistake with his pit stop and was 6th place.

5 Laps to go and Rea really started to open up the gap as it seemed he choose full slicks instead of the intermediates Sykes went with. Savadori really impressive setting good laps times in 4th place he choose the perfect time to pit. Going onto the last lap Rea had a 1 second advantage over Sykes as they both started to struggle a little with rear grip. Van Der Mark was was managing a very lonely 3rd place a mark improvement on his finish in yesterdays race.

13000203_1150864581615128_7651408824914505159_nRea wins it from Sykes an impressive commanding win for Rea who now has 5 wins in a row at the Dutch circuit and closes again on Carl Fogarty. Van Der Mark completed the podium with Savadori coming home and impressive 4th. Davies could only managae a 5th place but after all the tirals and tribulations of the race he wont be to dissappointed.

Rea now has a 45 point championship lead after yet another double win moving him into 4th place in all time rider wins in WSBK and just like the great Carl Fogarty he clinced his 34th Race win at the age of 29. A really entertaining race for different reasons than yesterdays race Rea back on top form after a dissappointing Aragon by his high standards. Feel for Brookes as he looked set for possibily his best WSBK result. Great to see Van Der Mark on the podium at his home round he will be dissapointed not to get the win but he is truly a star in the making.
